Who We Are

Inventor-in-Chief Marvin Weinberger is a serial entrepreneur who loves the outdoors - including the BBQ. With numerous patents, his successful products include the Trucker’s Friend and Off Grid Survival Axe, the IceDozer as well as the best-selling Chainmail Cast Iron Scrubber (licensed to Lodge Manufacturing). He is currently hosting an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for his LifeSaber personal energy generator.

He is the volunteer organizer of the Philly Makers Meetup and Maker Faire, a community for catalyzing innovation and collaboration among hard-product entrepreneurs.

Marvin was honored as the keynote presenter on the closing day of the 2019 NASA NIAC annual symposium. He spoke of paradigm shifts and how scientists and engineers can and should expand their range of thinking to improve their success in developing leading edge technologies.

Marvin graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Philosophy and a JD from Boston University. He is also a professionally trained classical (and Klezmer) violinist. He has shared the healing power of his music through the Philadelphia KlezJam and (to hospital patients) through Musicians on Call.

After experimenting with many types of 'attack surfaces', we settled on chainmail, a flexible but strong material invented by medieval artisans. But with a high tech twist. Rather than soft iron, we would use food-safe stainless, with welded rings for extra safety. We even invented a method to produce chainmail with a square edge, for added cleaning power.

But we didn't stop there because we still needed a durable, yet flexible food-safe backing.

After still more trials, we developed a unique silicon-sponge which allows the chainmail to follow the contours of the grill bars.

Combining our abrasive chainmail with this sponge results in a kind of flexible rasp; the first of its kind and nearly indestructible (for its intended use).

In the course of our extensive development work we've been awarded numerous utility patents. Along the way, we even introduced the best-selling Chainmail Scrubber (sold by Lodge Manufacturing) for cleaning cast-iron cookware.
